Adding ‘tion’ or ‘sion’
Add the suffix ‘tion’ to the verb to create a noun eg: medicate – medication; decorate- decoration
When the base word ends in ‘s’, ‘se’, ‘d’ or ‘de’ add ‘sion’ to the verb to make the noun eg: televise – television; invade- invasion
The verbs are in brackets. You do not need to learn the words in the brackets.

Spelling Rule - silent c
If ‘C’ is followed by ‘e’ , ‘i’ , or ‘y’ and follows ‘s’, the ‘c’ is silent as in the words – scent, science and scissors. Whenever ‘c’ or ‘k’ are together, ‘c’ is silent as in – click, trick, pick.
