3. Did your feelings change towards any of the birds change while watching or after ?watching the film?

1. What is the message being portrayed in this clip? Explain

Viewing Techniques
 1. How does the sound help tell the story? 
 2. What is making the sounds you hear? (eg squeaky toys) 
 3.Do you think it is effective?  
4.What viewing techniques can you identify? Refer to handout on viewing techniques


Film Study Project - Favourite Movie

Assessment
Homework Week 2-5:  Create a poster of your favourite movie.

The purpose of your poster is to persuade others to watch your movie. Your poster must look different to the original film/poster.

Your poster must include:
1. Title of your movie, the director, main actors and the rating

2. Summary of the movie- don’t tell everything that happens, especially not the ending. Write about the mains events in the movie.

3. Write about the viewing techniques - how did they help to enhance the movie and engage the audience.
Viewing Techniques you might write about are - music; lighting, camera movements or shots, use of special effects. You must include 2 viewing techniques and explain the scene briefly (e.g. the penguin jumps off an enormous cliff, there is a close up shot etc) and how they make you feel (in other words why do you think the director chose to use this technique).

4. Evaluate the movie - Why do you recommend the movie? Explain why you are making the recommendation. Give at least 2 reasons why you liked or didn’t like the movie.  Who will like it- kids/adults?

5. Illustrations & photos are an important feature when creating your poster.

iMovie Creation


ASSESSMENT: Create  A short Animation Movie - In Class Weeks 3 - 8
Using imovie create a short film to teach an act of kindness or a Christmas theme to a group of infant students.
Please try and include a start, middle and end and really focus on character growth.
You will work in class groups, in groups of 3 …. 4 max chosen by the teacher.


Criteria/Rubric
-storyboard (include a storyline with 6 frames at least). This needs to be handed in.
- Theme is clear
- Character growth is clear
You must include at least

  • 4 scenes
  • 2 zoom ins
  • 2 far away shots
  • Add music
  • Add text
  • Use of effective transitions between shots
  • Movie being between 2-3 minutes

Week 1:

  2. Who was the target market (explain target market)
  3. Do you think it was effective? Why or why not?
  4. How would you improve the commercial?
  5. What tools did they use (e.g. music, animation, graphics etc)

  • Language directed at target audience
  • Brainstorm with Students how to create a good commercial.





In pairs or groups of 3 students will create their own story board based on pursuasion



Create a persuasive story board using:

Present it back to the class.


Week 3:


  • 6W work outside to create a commercial while 6G stay inside and learn about print advertising in newspapers and magazines as well as billboards. They will also have a chance to learn about food advertisement and create their own logo and even celebrity endorsements and its power.
  • Criteria for commercials: no more than 1 minute 30 seconds. Must have at least 4 frames, music and text. They use movie maker. No more than 4 in a group. Each student must write a reflection about why his/her commercial was persuasive and what persuasive techniques were used.
